So, last night was interesting. The show was scheduled to air from 7 to 9pm, but we actually didn't get started til well after 8. But once the show got going, it was a lot of fun. Sinnamon and Orpheus have great chemistry and the show was very light-hearted. Sin shared porn stories, including her first DP scene in about 7 years, which she'd shot earlier in the day) and we played around and plugged my book and stuff. I think it went really well so maybe I'll be back sometime.

Fetish At Night has only been airing for a couple months so I think they're still working out the kinks. Should be fun to watch, though, and I'm going to make an effort to do that in the future.

I've been doing my darndest to get caught up on editing, and that means I've finally had a chance to finish the photos I shot of Pia and Angela back in January.

Which reminds me... I just got an email from Angela saying she's getting a boob job in August! Woah! I had no idea. So, I guess this means that these are gonna be the last little boob photos I'll have taken of her. I'm sure she'll look great with the new ones, but I'll always have a soft spot for the naturals.

"Cinched by Tattoos" in the Corset Gallery
I've had the very good fortune to develop some great working relationships with some of the raddest designers working in fetish today. One of those is Simone from Exquisite Restraint Corsetry. Several years ago, Darenzia showed up to a shoot with a couple corsets from a new company. She wore them, I took the photos, and we sent the images over to Simone. She loved them and we've been working together ever since. At the time, her designs were cool, with some interesting details, but I was really wowed by the awesome fabrics she was using to line her corsets. I am gonna go out on a limb here and say that you can thank me (!) for her decision to start designing some corsets in some really wild fabrics. You're welcome. LOL

In this gallery, Miss Conduct is wearing one of those great designs, a custom piece made with an old-timey tattoo flash pattern. I've shot this particular corset a couple other times (Simone was kind enough to entrust it to me for an extended period of time) and one of those pictures (featuring Mandy Murders) is supposed to be on the cover of an upcoming issue of Skin and Ink.



"Hanging Duo" in the Restraint Gallery
Claire Adams and Kumi came by my studio for a day of shooting a while back. We did a bunch of set-ups, with some amazing ropework by Josef Saunders. In this set, both models are wearing identical black PVC catsuits by Imp of Satan, matching ballet boots, and each of them is suspended by one ankle from a steel suspension bar hanging from the ceiling. Both of them are extremely experienced bondage enthusiasts, not to mention very flexible, and we had so much fun watching them spin and writhe.



Ok, now... These are some OLD photos. I had a gallery exhibit several years ago, and all my wonderful pervy pals came by my house beforehand for a super-classy stand around and eat pizza dinner. Persephone, Emily Marilyn, Steve Diet Goedde, Kumi, Ashley Fontenot, and more... Don't ask me where the 80s glasses came from! I can't even recall.

"Blue VacBed" in the Latex Gallery
Apnea was in town a while back, staying at my house as she often does. We were just hanging out, wasting time one night when we decided to pull out some VacBeds. Miss Conduct was here too, but she doesn't appear in this gallery. I think it was Apnea's first time in a full-coverage VacBed and lord, did she love it!

My friend, Patrick, was moving to a new house and he was kind enough to let me do a dirty photo shoot in his near-empty digs. This was my first time working with Stoya, though we'd hung out together before. She's so gorgeous and so much fun. And dirty, dirty, dirty!



"Red Rubber, pt 2" - New Video starring Darenzia
D-Rock had this swank hotel room on the Sunset Strip and she invited me over to shoot. We did two videos that morning before checkout including this one. She starts out in a foxy red Atsuko Kudo latex dress and strips down to nothing but heels. She's extra-awesome, though, because she teases you the whole way. Just when you think she's gonna let you in close... You're shut out. It's Mistress Darenzia at the helm!

My publisher is doing a compilation book entitled "My Favorite Model" and has asked me to participate. Though it's a lovely concept, it's also pure evil as I've had real difficulty choosing A model. My list isn't huge, but there are definitely more than one. For the record, let me just say that the list includes but is not limited to Darenzia, Emily Marilyn, Apnea, and Masuimi. But, because I had to choose, I chose Lorraine. The choice probably had as much to do with the fact that I REALLY love the images we shot recently, and because she's on the cover of my book... Any one of the others could have made it instead and I loathe the idea that their feelings might be hurt. I mean, really... ONE? Couldn't it have been "My top 10 favorite models"?

"With "favorite" we do not necessarily mean your partner or a person you are personally close to, but a model you like working with as a photographer most. This is an anthology about a professional relationship..."

I ended up going through all of our shoots since 2003. Just saying that doesn't seem right. It has to have been longer than that. I feel like we've been working together for a decade or more. LOL I mean that in a good way.

Here are a couple old photos that I haven't thought about in a long time.


This is a photograph of Lorraine and her former slave. He had a thing for Persephone so we arranged a shoot with both Lorraine and Miss P for his visit. We shot a bunch that day and this trampling set was one of them. Though it's not one of the images I'm submitting for the book, I still quite like it, the simplicity of it.


And then there's this picture of Lorraine and Masuimi, still one of my favorite shots of all time. Man, we had a blast that day, both models in their prime, and I was kinda on too, if I do say so myself. =)

I just spoke with my pal, Yasmin Ling, and she let me know that her new store launched yesterday. Check out BodyHose.com for the killer nylon tube seen in this photo of Apnea.



The tubes are so much fun whether you're into photography, encasement, bondage, etc. They are white nylon and suuuuuuuuuper stretchy; they can fit up to three people at once. And, you can use them for suspension! The tubes have been off the market for a long time, so it's awesome that Yasmin's been able to make them available for sale again.

Yay Yasmin!

A few years ago, Miss Conduct posted this photo to her Deviant Art account. Someone was kind enough to make it the daily deviation so it got a lot of exposure. And, for some reason, it inspired some serious debate along the lines of ART vs. PORN. I was caught up in it and expounded quite passionately on the topic.

As the photographer of this image, I thought I'd say a few words.
First, let me add that I am proud of this image. I find it beautiful, and the model, Miss Conduct, is simply stunning. We collaborated in the photograph's creation and I know she'd agree that we created something striking.
I am often stunned by the comments that are posted in response to such photos. Shocked, really, on so many levels.

-Pornography vs. Art-
Pornography is imagery that causes sexual arousal. Can this image be construed as pornography? Did it get you hot? Then it's pornographic. For the so-called "average" male, pictures of bottle blonde, big boobed women in skimpy bikinis may be pornographic. For the adolescent male, the Victoria's Secret catalog may be pornographic. For some foot fetishists, fully-clothed women pressing on big gas pedals does the trick. Basically, what I'm saying is that the word "pornography" is open to interpretation.

-User andsoitburns asked, "When did porn become art"-
I think that question is hysterical. Let's look back in history, shall we? Do any of these names ring a bell? Picasso, Rembrandt, Mapplethorpe, to name but a few. I am, in no way, comparing my work to any of theirs, just reminding people of the fact that erotic images are nothing new. And, I'm quite sure that each of those artists had to face criticism and worse.

-Boobs-
I'm not afraid to say, "I've got them"! Yep. Two of them. And they're in front.
Miss C.'s got them too (aren't they yummy????) and here they are in a photo.
Yes, her breasts were an integral part of the composition. Could I have cropped them out? Sure. Would I? No. I like her breasts, they look beautiful in the shot. The outfit she's wearing was designed so that her breasts would be exposed. Seeing them there and knowing that may make the viewer consider what was in store for them... It may have made the viewer consider the situation for a moment longer than normal. I think that's great! We're bombarded with images all day, every day. If one makes you stop and ponder, or even, stop and comment, then I think it was a successful photograph.

-Art for profit-
So, tell me, is something not art if it can possibly sell? If you go to a gallery and there's a little red dot next to a painting, does that immediately devalue that work? Is it now not "art" because the artist has profited from it? Yes, this image will appear on Miss Conduct's membership website. So what? Perhaps you might applaud her for being bold enough to populate her site with more challenging images than other, more commercial sites. Alternately, you might also commend her for providing such imagery for those people out there who enjoy it. You most certainly don't have to become a member. There is more out there for you to explore. Really, how can you justify your critical comments? The girl needs to eat, after all! She's got bills to pay!


-Art-
Dictionary.com defines art as: "The conscious production or arrangement of sounds, colors, forms, movements, or other elements in a manner that affects the sense of beauty, specifically the production of the beautiful in a graphic or plastic medium." Is this art or isn't it? Ultimately, that decision is left up to each individual viewer. To me, it is. I think it's beautiful and I have it framed (really, I do!). I appreciate erotic art, and fetish art. You may not, and that is your prerogative.

Finally, I've said this before and I'll say it again, "Not everyone needs to like it". That's the beauty of "art" or music, or movies, or books, etc. Each of us is an individual. We are all entitled to our own tastes and whims. You may like Britney Spears; I sure don't. You may like kung-fu movies; not I. You may like romance novels; I prefer other genres. And, you know what? That's perfect! It's just the way it should be. I don't mind if you look at my photos and don't "get it". That is your absolute right. You know what? Don't look at it! You've got so many other choices! Isn't that terrific??? On deviant art, alone, there are 14,357,885 of options (right at this moment). People, you can exercise your right to choose what you view. If you don't enjoy being challenged by different genres, then don't! Go find something else, please!! Go create your own art and share it with the world. Just don't try to repress my right (or Miss Conduct's right) to do the same thing, or the rights of those who do appreciate it.

I'm glad it was chosen as it's an image I really love. It was actaully a nice challenge to put my thoughts into words. And I hadn't thought about it in quite a while until I saw Michael Helms' journal on the topic the other day.
