I started out when I was about 20 with violet wands. OMG, they are still one of my very favorite toys. I love the sound, the look, the scent of ozone, and of course, the sensations. Believe it or not, I bought my first kit out of some dude's garage in the early 90s. I'd never heard of violet wands and was really short on money in those days, but his description really captured me and I HAD to have it.If you've never experienced a violet wand before, let me break it down for you...
Violet wands were originally sold as quack medical devices but they really found their stride in the kink community. Each kit comes with a "wand" which plugs into the wall. This accepts a huge variety of glass bulb attachments from big round bulbs to long narrow tubes, and others. The bulbs are usually filled with ozone which glows purple, but some newer bulbs are filled with gases that glow in different colors. The sensation can be mild or intense, depending on how high you set the output knob as well as the size of the bulb. The bigger bulbs spread out the static sparks over a wide surface area and are great for beginners or as a warm-up, the smaller ones concentrate the sparks into a tiny area and cause much stronger sensations. The feeling can be mildly prickly (if your partner is being nice to you) or it can seem like an incredibly sharp scratch.
There are a bunch of different ways to play with it, too. Directly or indirectly, with other outside metal objects and handheld toys... The options are endless and so much fun to experiment with. A lot of people are scared of electrical play, but the violet wands are pretty safe as they only issue a static charge. You can find lots of info online and I recommend that you educate yourself before using this or any other BDSM toy.**
Violet wand kits come in starter set size as well as ultimate dream kits with every imaginable attachment. The Wartenberg pinwheel is particularly fun for indirect play. You have to insert the handle probe (body contact probe) into the wand instead of a bulb, the other end you either hold in your hand or you can place it in the waistband of your pants (it must be in contact with your skin) so that it makes you the conductor of the charge. You hold the metal pinwheel in your other hand and drag it across your sub's skin. Each little spike of the wheel will let of a tiny spark! I remember once doing this with the power set pretty high on the wand and, the next day, my subby woke up with a dotted line of tiny scabs tracing the route I had taken. Talk about possibilities!!
The photo I used above is of Ariel X. I love her for so many reasons, but this is one of the biggies. She came to my studio to shoot and we did the usual latex and foot fetish photos, but then I mentioned the violet wand and she was intrigued. I brought it out at the very end of the shoot and just let her play around with it and she was HOOKED! I mean, seriously! She loved it so much that we made a date for a little play party the following week and the violet wand was a key player. =) Someone should buy her one, I think she deserves it.
**SPECIAL CONCERNS: Anyone deciding to play with electricity must educate themselves about the risks. Some toys must not be used on the torso as they can damage the heart. Some people with heart trouble should never play with electricity. Read up on the type of play you intend to do, and check with your doctor if you have any questions!!

It's been one of those weeks that finds everyone in town all at once, and a flurry of activity because of it. Apnea and LP finally went back to TX a couple nights ago, Darenzia is still here (currently napping in my bed), Nicolla is in LA too, as is Ulorin Vex. My usual Wednesday update is late because I've spent the last two days shooting until I was too tired to move. But it was so, so worth it.
On top of that, more positivity! Work on the previously-mentioned book is cruising along very well and I finally finished a huge website job. Then, the issue with my phone was solved. I've been with T-Mobile for YEARS and, recently, I stopped getting service at my house. Since that's where I'm usually at, it's been a problem. Months of trying to fix shit with tech support, swapping phones and SIM cards yielded no results. So, I wanted to change carriers and they refused to let me out of my contract. Guess what? I filed complaints with the FCC and the Better Business Bureau, and I'm free! Woot! Another even greater freedom presented itself this week, too. My divorce finally came through. That's right, I'm no longer tied in any way to my lying, cheating ex. Life is so good that the only thing that'd make it better is pictures of naked chicks, and winning the lotto. Since I don't gamble, the ladies will do.
Ready for the onslaught?
Wednesday, D and I met up with Ulorin at this ultra-swank hotel in West Hollywood. Sutan met us there too and did an amazing job of beating face. Per usual. He's the head makeup artist on America's Next Top Model, and a valued friend. I'm always pleased as punch when he has the time to shlep his shit to one of my shoots.

Thursday, that'd be yesterday, I shot again with my favorite hard-body, Nicolla. She is in town from her sweltering home in Florida. I picked up Sutan and met her at her hotel on Sunset Boulevard. She always comes with the nicest lingerie, and yummy latex, and we have such a blast working together. It's just a shame that she didn't have enough free time this trip to hang out. We'll make up for that next trip, I'm sure. Most of the sets we shot are exclusives for her site, so you'll have to sign up there to see all of them. I'm only giving you a littly sneaky peak. I brought some extra wardrobe, though, and the sets where she's wearing those will appear on My Fetish Diary as well.

I just spent the last hour going through every one of my posts and deleting the lame spam comment some idiot posted with a link to free ringtones. Come on people! Why are there dumbshits whose sole purpose in life is ruining stuff? I mean, we're all here for one reason and one reason only. Free fetish photos. Right? You don't give a shit about ringtones and neither do I. I don't care how many times I get spammed, I am not going to click your link, I will not buy Cialis from you, I will not come to you for software or to help the emperor of Zimbabwe, or anything else. Touched with Pia Kaamos and Erin - In the Corset Gallery
Erin was getting set to move from LA to New York. We made arrangements to shoot at her apartment here a few weeks before her departure. She and I had always gotten along really well and we'd wanted to work together, but things like this just happen. We'd nearly waited too long... I'm glad we made it happen.
Pia came along to the shoot to do makeup and, well, one thing led to another and the end of the day found them both in corsets and making out. I considered myself lucky and so will you. They look extremely tasty in their first photo shoot together.

This is, easily, one of my favorite sets of Kumi. She had Laura at Vex make her this custom-designed latex dress inspired by the work of legendary architect, Frank Lloyd Wright. I arranged some flats to expose their backsides, giving the impression of construction and Kumi artfully strips and looks just gorgeous.

I can't believe how long it's been since my first shoot with Jewell Marceau. Especially since our first shoot went so well; it yielded an ad for House of Harlot and the cover of the Skin Two Directory.We ran into each other several times this year, at Kink Ball, at DomCon, and again recently at the July Bondage Ball. Each time we promised to shoot again, but it didn't happen until yesterday. She was even going to go up to Oregon with us, but had a last-minute house-guest and couldn't make it. =(
Jewell owns a beautiful house a couple hours outside LA and I made the drive early yesterday morning. It was so great to see her again and after a few minutes of catching up, I got to go through all of her latex and figure out what I wanted her to wear for me. As always, I selected more than time would allow for, but that just means that I'll be shooting her again.
We settled on two pairs of Wolford pantyhose, a Libidex latex ensemble, a gorgeous Atsuko Kudo outfit complete with giant hat, and a bizarre transparent yellow latex straightjacket. Sadly, she didn't know who made it. I'd love to know the designer, though, cuz I just loved it! I arrived at noon and left at 9pm. We shot all over her house and I even got to test out a new underwater housing for one of my cameras. Boy was that a learning experience! I have new-found respect for underwater photographers. I would be floating one way, Jewell the other... It was really difficult! Next time, I think I'll be wearing weights on my ankles.

I foresee more shoots with Jewell soon. She mentioned that she and Emily were talking about shooting with me, and when I mentioned yesterday's shoot to Sinnamon, she said that she's always wanted to work with Jewell too. Yay! Those are both shoots to look forward to. =)
